Zhenya Medvedeva’s “Like”: Russian brands from Moscow Fashion Week chosen by the champion

Recently, I happened to visit Moscow Fashion Week. The number of breathtaking shows just amazed me! And yet, I managed to choose from all this variety exactly the brands whose products I myself would wear with pleasure. Pay close attention to it – you will certainly hear about it very soon, and more than once.

Dima Magniy presented his first collection, luminous, a little rebellious, but at the same time adhering to the principles of upcycling. I was particularly struck by the incredible energy that shrouded the entire show, and it’s associated not only with the designer’s creative decisions, but also with the complex process of putting things together. Each product, according to the creator of the brand, has its own unique energy value. Therefore, as a result of the “experience” of combining several things in one garment, a unique combination of energy is obtained. The collection strikes the imagination and captivates with its unusual new aura.

At the heart of this incredible collection are exquisite corsets that add grace to the figure without being overbearing, perfect in their simplicity. Two colorful eras served as inspiration at once, the airy rococo and the free 70s. Despite the differences in the fashion trends of those times, incredible harmony reigned in the salon. Light corsets of light shades easily complement intricate prints, jeans, lace, oversized, dense and textured materials, put together in rather non-standard images. Personally, I put some positive points to the karma of the collection, because it is completely environmentally friendly. All vintage items used in the creation of this collection have been restored by the team themselves.

In my opinion, the show of this brand was one of the highlights of the last Moscow Fashion Week. And it’s not just about rich colors, but also an abundance of details, unusual patterns, atypical silhouettes and, of course, eye-catching inscriptions and prints. Inspired by cherry blossoms, as well as 2000s and Asian fashion, the collection is the perfect embodiment of audacity and vulnerability, strength and lightness at the same time. All this is possible thanks to the combination of ruffles and voluminous collars with dense fabrics and soft colors.

And yet, the heart of the collection is the cherry blossom period, so the soft lines, the free cuts, the translucent materials, the delicate shades of pink, that is to say everything that could inspire us petals against the background of the spring sunset, are paramount in the images created by the designer. The combination of strict forms and the weightlessness of the materials used, discreet jackets, complemented by inscriptions in the style of “Lunar Prism give me strength” – in the concept of the brand, contradictions easily exist in open spaces seductive streets of your lively favorite.

BITTE_RUHE, as if unlike all the previously mentioned brands, relies on minimalism, therefore, in the images presented to us, no more than three colors are used, decorative elements are practically absent, but this moment is compensated ( more than!) by the complexity of the cut, the texture of the selected fabrics and the versatility of each element of the collection. This choice is linked to the brand’s desire to resist the overabundance of people.

Excessive zeal can harm the created perfect ensemble, therefore BITTE_RUHE also prefers not to create new systematic collections, but only occasionally supplement the already existing range with new models. The brand’s DNA is femininity, discreet sexuality, comfort and freedom in every movement. At the same time, designers try to avoid any frames, not limiting the flow of inspiration with unnecessary conventions. How I liked their unusual sweatshirts with an imitation bodice – a clear trend of the new season.

The sophisticated images of the St. Petersburg brand Dear Passenger N. are designed to take us back to the time of René Lalique, an exceptional jeweler of the Art Nouveau era. Its innovative approach to its profession and its desire to combine technology and traditional aesthetics have inspired the brand to continue in this direction. In the images shown, for me, succinctly combines intricate Italian velvet, and more understated viscose, and even hard-to-tame tweed with a shimmering yarn.

The variety of fabrics is complemented by expressive and intricate openwork graphics. It is thanks to her that the designer faces the difficult task of bringing us back to the time of the great master. The prints used in the collection are stylized images of René Lalique jewelry. Another interesting decision, in my opinion, was the combination of ripples and textured seams with rather strict classic product outlines.

In this collection, I was struck by the fact that the inspiration for its creation was exclusively music. Fascinating sounds of accordion, button accordion, accordion and the unique working principles of their mechanisms, capable of creating real magic with the skillful movement of the musician’s hands just from the air and the keys . The musical registers are reflected in the images created, fall gracefully and discreetly on the products and add a little harmony to the choppy cut.

The name of the collection reflects this process of uniting music and clothing, and also indicates the complex process of creating such models. As a result, all the images are combined into a single harmonious and harmonious melody, revealing to us a completed musical and design work. But even by disassembling the collection into separate components, we get incredibly beautiful sounds that can amaze the viewer. All presented products are distinguished by unchanging simplicity, in which its special charm lies. The playful floral prints and translucent materials used to decorate the collection create their own unique summer charm.
