Brazilian singer and actor Fiuk has announced an indefinite halt to his music career and will perform a final farewell concert in Campinas on September 18.
The 35-year-old artist, who was born Filipe Kartalian Ayrosa Galvão in São Paulo, shared the news on Wednesday, September 9, in a video posted to his social media channels. He explained that he had decided to cancel all other upcoming performances on his schedule, saving only the Campinas concert to serve as the definitive closing moment for his musical career.
Addressing his fans in the video, Fiuk said that the upcoming show would be his last as a vocalist for an indefinite period. He told viewers that he wanted to deliver a performance that reflected the significance of his musical journey, expressing a desire to look out at the crowd, sing his tracks together with his audience, and mark the end of the chapter alongside the supporters who had followed his work over the years.
The singer added that once the farewell concert was finished, he needed to follow a different path.
Farewell concert in Campinas
The final performance will take place at Love Haus, a venue situated in Campinas. Located roughly 90 kilometers northwest of the state capital of São Paulo, Campinas is one of the largest economic and cultural hubs in southeastern Brazil. The venue will host the artist's single remaining live date before he steps away from stage performances.
Music career and band Hori
Fiuk first rose to prominence in 2007 as the frontman for Hori, a pop rock group formed in São Paulo. During his four years leading the band, the group gained nationwide popularity among young listeners, releasing two full-length studio albums and an EP. Their repertoire included hit singles such as Quem Eu Sou and a cover of the popular song Só Você.
The track Só Você held personal significance for the singer, having previously been recorded and made famous in the 1980s by his father, the renowned Brazilian romantic pop musician and actor Fábio Jr. Hori remained active until 2011, when Fiuk departed to launch a solo career. As a solo recording artist, he subsequently released two studio albums: Sou Eu in 2011 and Vira-Lara in 2013.
Television roles and reality shows
In addition to his work in music, Fiuk built a parallel career in television acting and broadcasting. He made his acting debut in 2009 after being cast as the lead character, Bernardo, in Malhação ID. The series was a season of the long-running youth soap opera Malhação, broadcast nationally by the major Brazilian television network TV Globo.
He later expanded his acting resume with roles in prime-time telenovelas such as Aquele Beijo and A Força do Querer, as well as a featured appearance in the drama series Geração Brasil. Fiuk also became a frequent figure on Brazilian television entertainment competitions, joining the contestant lineups for Super Chef Celebridades, Dança dos Famosos, Show dos Famosos, and the reality show Big Brother Brasil.
