Garik Kharlamov, who voices Kolobok in the film Last Knight: Kolobok, has responded to criticism over the delay of the unofficial Russian screening of Marvel's Spider-Man: New Day.
Kharlamov said he had nothing to do with the delay and said he actually prefers Batman, the DC superhero.
What Kharlamov Said
Kharlamov said people kept writing to him accusing him of causing the Spider-Man delay because of Kolobok, and pushed back, saying he had nothing to do with it and does not even care about Spider-Man since he likes Batman. He added there was no real Spider-Man premiere to begin with, since Sony left the Russian market long ago, meaning the film would only be seen unofficially, without premieres or red carpets, and that anyone who wanted to watch it could do so as soon as it appeared worldwide.
The Cinema Association Letter
On 13 July, Russian cinemas received a letter from the Association of Cinema Owners asking domestic theater chains to delay the unofficial premiere of Spider-Man: New Day until 20 August, in support of the Russian blockbuster Last Knight: Kolobok.
