Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle has welcomed his first child with nursing graduate girlfriend Maia Ellen after she gave birth to a daughter following a 40-hour labour.

The 38-year-old reality television personality announced the birth on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing hospital room photographs of 24-year-old Ellen lying in bed with their newborn daughter.

Beadle praised his partner for her strength during the birth. "She's here after 40 hours of what felt like a life time @maiaelx was incredible... there really is no other feeling like it she is perfect... Time to get her home," he wrote.

Friends and fellow reality television stars quickly flooded the post with congratulations. Geordie Shore castmates Abbie Holborn and Chloe Ferry sent their best wishes, while Chris Hughes commented, "Congrats guys, beautiful!" and Dan Osborne added, "Congratulations mate!"

Attempts to induce labour

The birth followed days of anticipation as the couple attempted to encourage the baby's arrival. Earlier in the week, Beadle shared a video of Ellen dancing and jumping around their home after passing her due date.

"POV: You're overdue and have officially reached the "dance this baby out" stage. We've tried everything. Baby girl "absolutely not,"" Beadle joked in the video caption.

Ellen also thanked followers for sending advice after receiving numerous messages from fans. "When I say I’ve been trying EVERYTHING for days now and nothing is getting her to budge think it is time to accept she will come when she is ready and none of these things will work until she is," she posted.

Pregnancy announcement and gender reveal

Beadle first announced that Ellen was pregnant in February by posting a video clip of an ultrasound scan on Instagram. The clip showed the couple holding scan photos in a car before kissing, while their labrador wore a personalised neckerchief and toys featured the names of Beadle's children.

The announcement video also showed the couple relaxing on a beach, where Beadle placed his hands on Ellen's stomach before pumping his fists in celebration.

In April, the couple revealed they were expecting a daughter during a baby shower display. Standing in front of a large sign spelling out the word "Baby", they let off a pink smoke cannon supplied by Chase Lane Firework Displays.

"Baby Beadle is..... OH MYYYY GOOOOOD!!!!! GIRL!!!!! Mini @maiaelx - Girl dad era continues," Beadle wrote at the time, thanking the display team for managing the smoke cannon despite strong winds.

The pregnancy announcement drew warm responses from former co-stars. Pregnant Geordie Shore star Sophie Kasaei commented, "2026, the year of the Geordie Shore babies, congratulations," while Marnie Simpson wrote, "Omgggg congratulations" and Sam Gowland added, "Congrats mate."

Relationship history and background

Beadle went public with his relationship with Ellen in 2024, describing her as an inspirational support following his split from ex-wife Emma McVey.

Beadle married model Emma McVey in July 2021 before the couple separated two years later in 2023. They share two children together, seven-year-old son Chester and four-year-old daughter Primrose.

Beadle rose to fame as an original cast member on MTV's reality television show Geordie Shore, which launched in 2011 and follows a group of housemates living in Newcastle upon Tyne. He remained a central figure on the series for six years until his departure in 2017.
