Georgina Rodriguez made a high street fashion statement at the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Thursday, stepping out in an £87 brown lace balconette bra and a matching £110 satin shirt from Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi.
The 32-year-old influencer arrived for the second day of the annual festival wearing the matching satin shirt unbuttoned to flash a hint of the lingerie underneath. She paired the two-piece high street outfit with a pair of chic white jeans as she arrived solo for the event.
Despite embracing accessible high street items for her arrival, Rodriguez balanced the look with an ultra-exclusive luxury accessory. She carried a Hermes Birkin crocodile bag, which carries an eye-watering price tag of £74,000.
The Venice International Film Festival, held annually on the Lido in Venice, Italy, is one of the world's oldest cinema gatherings and a major international platform for fashion. Intimissimi, founded in Italy in 1996, is widely known for affordable lingerie and sleepwear, contrasting sharply with Hermes, the French luxury house whose rare Birkin handbags, introduced in the 1980s and named after actress Jane Birkin, are among the most sought-after accessories in the world.
Intimate living room wedding in Portugal
The festival outing marked a solo public appearance for the newly married star following her recent wedding to football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. The couple officially tied the knot last month in an intimate legal ceremony held at their private residence in Portugal.
Defying widespread public speculation about a lavish celebrity wedding, the couple chose a quiet, pared-back celebration. Ronaldo wore a T-shirt paired with a suit jacket as they exchanged vows inside the living room of their home. The ceremony later proceeded from their house to a nearby church, where Rodriguez admitted she could not hold back her tears.
Speaking to Vogue magazine in its Summer digital issue, Rodriguez explained why they chose their home as the location for the ceremony. "We've chosen to do it in the living room of our house here where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives," she said.
She added that she wanted the event to leave a lasting memory for their family. "In 30 years' time I want the children to think, something wonderful happened at this table, the wedding vows of our parents," Rodriguez told the magazine. She admitted that her childhood expectations had changed over time. "When I was a little girl I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I'm saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home."
Although the legal wedding was intentionally kept small, Rodriguez promised in the interview that she and Ronaldo plan to host a "big wedding" in the future to celebrate with their wider family and friends. However, she did not elaborate further on those future plans.
Tenth anniversary and full circle moments
The wedding took place on the exact tenth anniversary of the day the couple first met in Madrid, Spain. At the time, Rodriguez was working as a shop assistant at a Gucci retail store when she first encountered the Portuguese football star. In a nod to their history, both chose to wear Gucci garments for their wedding day, describing the decision as a "full circle" moment.
Ronaldo is widely considered one of the greatest football players of all time, having won five Ballon d'Or awards during a decorated career with top European clubs including Real Madrid and Manchester United. Gucci, the luxury fashion house founded in Florence, Italy, in 1921, played a pivotal role in the couple's personal history, turning a chance retail encounter into a decade-long relationship.
Ronaldo publicly confirmed that he and Rodriguez had married after ten years together by sharing a photograph of their wedding bands on Instagram. He captioned the post simply with the initials "C❤️G."
