"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is returning to cinemas across Spain to mark its 25th anniversary, giving audiences another chance to see the film that launched one of the most popular franchises in cinema history. The re-release will run from August 28 to September 1, coinciding with the annual "Back to Hogwarts" celebrations.
The screenings also serve as a lead-in to HBO's long-awaited Harry Potter television series, due to premiere in December 2026. The original film was directed by Chris Columbus and starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, and it will return to Spanish screens more than two decades after its original release.
The anniversary event will include previously unreleased footage from the film's production, which will be shown alongside the film as part of the special screening.

HBO's new Harry Potter series
The much-anticipated television adaptation of the Harry Potter universe now has an official premiere date.
