Engagement and Marrakech getaway

The marriage comes after Charman proposed in May 2025, following ten years together as a couple.

Brooke previously shared pictures of her engagement ring on Instagram, writing: "10 years later... she said 'yeah alright'".

Ahead of the wedding, the actress celebrated her hen party in June 2026 with a girls' getaway to Marrakech. She shared a gallery of snaps from her trip away on Instagram as they partied together in the Moroccan hotspot.

The actress is best known for her role as Rachel Hardy on the E4 soap, and played the role from 2015 to 2016 before her character was killed off

Television career and acting school

Brooke is best known for portraying Rachel Hardy on the E4 soap Hollyoaks. She joined the cast in 2015 as a member of the Nightingale family, but her character was killed off in a car explosion just six months later in 2016.

Following her departure from the soap, Brooke appeared in the BBC sitcom White Gold, which follows a group of ambitious double-glazing salesmen in Essex in the 1980s, navigating workplace rivalries and the competitive sales world. She also made a guest appearance in Call The Midwife last year, and has starred in My Name Is Lenny and The Last Letter from Your Lover.

In addition to performing, Brooke teaches acting to young people between the ages of two and 16. Along with fellow Italia Conti graduate Samantha Shaw, she is the co-director and a teacher of the B.O.S.S Acting School.

The couple got engaged in May last year after a decade together, and revealed on Instagram they married in a beachy town close to the Spanish city

Hollyoaks budget cuts and job losses

Her former soap Hollyoaks was once a fixture of the main Channel 4 schedule. In recent months, the soap has jumped on the streaming boom, moving to E4 and releasing episodes on demand and on YouTube.

In 2024, the soap was hit by a huge "cast cull" in a bid to save money, with its episode count reduced to just three shows per week following a move to E4. Channel 4 bosses cut budgets and slashed the number of episodes, announcing that the episode reduction would result in a loss of 135 jobs.

Lime Pictures, who make the soap for Channel 4, opened the consultation period and asked those who want to go to stick their hands up. Channel 4 announced a round of job cuts in a bid to tighten its budgets in the wake of a "sharp and protracted advertising slowdown".
