Ilya Lagutenko Sparks Online Debate After Riga Concert

Russian rock musician Ilya Lagutenko sparked widespread discussion online about his appearance after performing at a concert in Riga.

The 57-year-old leader of the rock group Mumiy Troll, who left Russia, drew attention following a video shared by a blogger under the username @nataly_wine, an Instagram account with more than 14,000 subscribers.

Lagutenko took to the stage in the Latvian capital wearing dark blue trousers and a white shirt. During the concert, he performed the hit song Eto Po Lyubvi.

The clip posted by the influencer accumulated 726 views and 60,300 likes. Social media users quickly took notice of the singer's grey hair and began commenting on his changed look.

Fan reactions to changed appearance

Many fans responded positively to the artist's updated image. Commenters remarked that Lagutenko is aging gracefully and described him as looking just as chic as he did 20 years ago.

Others compared the musician to an elite cognac that only improves with time. Fans praised his stage presence, calling him incredible, charismatic, and full of life, while one commenter noted that old age rarely suits a person so well.

Context and recent social media trends

The online discussion surrounding Lagutenko follows a similar wave of public interest in comedian Maxim Galkin, whose fashion style drew admiration from social media users after photos of him in Baku surfaced online. Galkin has been designated as a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice.

Lagutenko is the founder and long-time lead vocalist of Mumiy Troll, an influential Russian rock group formed in the city of Vladivostok. The band gained widespread popularity in the late 1990s for pioneering a distinct style of alternative music, with Eto Po Lyubvi remaining one of its signature tracks.

The concert took place in Riga, the capital of Latvia, a Baltic country in Northern Europe. Baku, where Galkin was recently photographed, is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan.
