Italy is developing a drama series inspired by the life and career of Giorgio Armani, with backing from the Armani fashion house. The project will be produced by Lux Vide and Faros Film.
Director Ferzan Ozpetek, an Italian of Turkish origin, is writing the script alongside Francesco Arlanc. The creators said the series will present a portrait of the designer as an entrepreneur, innovator, and visionary.
Lux Vide president Matilde Bernabei described the project as ambitious. Industry players have already shown interest, pointing to its international potential. Ozpetek said he has met personally with Armani on multiple occasions to discuss cinema, art, architecture, and life.
Italian producer Andrea Iervolino had previously announced plans for a biopic about Giorgio Armani.
