Actress Jessica Biel and her husband, singer Justin Timberlake, made a rare public appearance together in New York late Monday night to attend an afterparty for her new film Matchbox the Movie.
Biel, 44, made a dramatic entrance at the iconic venue The Rainbow Room ahead of Timberlake, 45, as they arrived at the event following the premiere of her project.
The actress wore an all-black look featuring a double-breasted blazer worn shirtless with sheer bottoms, pulling animated expressions as she walked in. Timberlake took a lower-key approach, trailing behind his wife while wearing dark sunglasses at night, a teal velvet trucker jacket, a black T-shirt, baggy trousers, and patent leather dress shoes.
The outing came one day after the couple celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary by sharing tributes to each other online. It also marked a rare high-profile joint appearance more than two years after Timberlake's June 2024 arrest for driving while intoxicated in The Hamptons.
Matchbox the Movie Afterparty
Biel stars as Emmy in Matchbox the Movie, a film centered around the childhood toy cars. She appears alongside a cast featuring John Cena, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, and Teyonah Parris.
Directed by Sam Hargrave, the movie follows a group of former childhood friends who reconnect before their reunion takes a wild turn when they discover a dangerous international plot and must save the world. The film is currently streaming on Apple TV.
Earlier on Monday evening, Biel wore the same black blazer outfit on the red carpet. Cast members Castro, Biel, Cena, Parris, and Richardson appeared together to promote the release.
Timberlake also posed for photographs alongside cast members Reagan Marum, Max Fox, Graham Harvey, Aiden Stoxx, and Braxton Paul.
Fourteen Years of Marriage
The couple marked their 14th wedding anniversary on Sunday by sharing photos and messages on social media. Timberlake posted a picture of the couple holding hands during an overseas stroll, writing, "Happy anniversary ❤️," and tagging Biel.
Timberlake uploaded another photo showing Biel hugging him from behind, adding the caption: "14 down. Forever to go." In a third post, he shared an image of the former 7th Heaven actress wearing a Lumati face mask and called her "my favorite person in every lifetime."
Biel posted her own anniversary tributes on Instagram Stories, including a photograph of Timberlake skiing with their two sons, Silas, 11, and Phineas, six. She called him "the best dad" alongside a gold medallion emoji with the number one.
The Candy actress also shared a photo of herself kissing Timberlake's cheek at a red carpet event, writing, "I love you ♥️."
The 2024 Hamptons Arrest
The outing comes after Timberlake resolved legal proceedings linked to his arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, in June 2024. Police stopped the former NSYNC member after he drove through a stop sign and veered onto the wrong side of the road.
According to police, Timberlake told officers he had consumed only "one martini and I followed my f***ing friends home." Video footage showed him complaining about sobriety testing, claiming he was being treated "like a criminal," and explaining to officers that he was in the middle of a world tour.
Timberlake pleaded guilty to impaired driving in September 2024 under a plea agreement that reduced his initial misdemeanor charge to a noncriminal traffic violation. He was ordered to pay a $500 fine, complete 25 hours of community service, submit to a 90-day driver's license suspension, and film a public safety announcement about the dangers of drunk driving.
Relationship History and Past Apology
Timberlake and Biel first met in 2007 and dated on and off for four years until a brief split in March 2011. They reunited in November of that year, became engaged in December 2011, and married in southern Italy in October 2012.
Timberlake has frequently spoken about his commitment to his wife and family. On Mother's Day, he called Biel and his mother "the greatest women I know." In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he described his bond with Biel, stating, "It’s like, once you find that person, it’s like a baptism, where you’re like, 'I can’t go back,' you know what I mean?" He added, "Like, I don’t, I can’t go back, so... which is what fatherhood's like too."
The relationship faced public attention in late 2019 after photographs were published showing Timberlake holding hands on a New Orleans balcony with actress Alisha Wainwright, 36, his co-star in the film Palmer.
Timberlake subsequently published a statement apologizing to Biel for what he described as a "strong lapse in judgement." He wrote that he "drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior," adding, "I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."
