Jessica Bueno has responded to Kiko Rivera after the DJ threatened legal action against the mothers of his children, telling him to stop what she called "kicking the ball out" instead of looking at his own conduct.
Kiko Rivera is recovering at home following a new stroke two weeks ago that put his life at risk and led him to rethink his priorities. He decided it was necessary to step back and regain the calm he had lost since declaring open conflict with Irene Rosales and Jessica Bueno, the mothers of his children.
That conflict turned into an ongoing exchange of accusations, reproaches and barbed remarks, playing out on television sets where he gave exclusive interviews or where his exes responded, in street exchanges with reporters, and in veiled attacks on social media.
Rivera has blamed the media for the harassment he says he suffered in recent months, holding it chiefly responsible for his second stroke. He has said he intends to change course, focus solely on recovering from the effects of the second stroke, and step away from the media, even considering lawsuits against anyone who crosses lines into his newly guarded privacy, including his former partners if they talk too much or defend themselves against things he has said in the past.
Irene Rosales speaks first
Irene Rosales was the first to comment after the stroke. She made clear she did not want to talk, that her ex-husband is no longer a central figure in her life, and that she did not feel it was her place to weigh in. She declined to comment on the stroke, which she said was worse than the first one, or on the responsibility Rivera had assigned her in his statements. She was firm, however, in condemning those who blamed her for the health scare suffered by the father of her daughters, having already said she did not want to be part of the spectacle.
Jessica Bueno responds to the legal threat
Jessica Bueno has taken the same stance, particularly after learning of the possible lawsuits through comments from Saul Ortiz, who said whoever crossed certain lines would face consequences in court, and that this included Jessica Bueno or Irene Rosales, the mother of his children, if their statements or insinuations were seen to violate his fundamental rights.
The Sevillian model said she was entirely calm about the threat, mainly because she did not feel targeted, especially by talk of people leaking information to the media. She said that had nothing to do with her.
She said she had been out of that family for many years, had acted with great caution, and had never wanted to interfere in Rivera's life or ask him anything. She added that even when he speaks with their son, she never asks about it, because she does not want to put the boy in that position. She stressed she does not want to get involved in anything to do with Rivera's life.
Learning of the stroke through the media
Bueno said she found out about the stroke through news reports and did not even ask their son about it, though the boy was with his father, on vacation, when it happened. She said she did not write to Rivera after the scare either, because he had not responded to her in the past and she did not want to expose herself to further rejection. She said she was not going to insist.

Bueno said she has gone many years without speaking publicly about Rivera and has only mentioned him on television to respond to his attacks. She said she had stayed on the sidelines for a very long time, and the only occasion she spoke about him was to respond to an interview he gave. She said she was not going to keep quiet in the face of disrespect, since she felt disrespected as the mother of his son and decided to answer back, but that this did not mean she would keep discussing his life, because she wants nothing to do with it.
She closed with a reflection, saying that instead of kicking the ball out, everyone needs to look at what they themselves are doing wrong and who they are telling things to.
