Jim Curtis, the 50-year-old hypnotherapist boyfriend of Jennifer Aniston, has given a rare insight into their yearlong relationship ahead of their first public appearance together.
Appearing on The Jamie Kern Lima Show on Monday, Curtis spoke openly about his romance with the 57-year-old actress, who stars in the drama series The Morning Show.
The interview was released just two days before the couple are set to make their first official public appearance together on stage at a book event in New York City on Wednesday.

Aniston will interview Curtis about his new self-help volume, titled The Book of Possibility, at the 92nd Street Y venue. The event sold out as soon as tickets became available to the public.

Tools for Resolving Conflict
During the podcast appearance, host Jamie Kern Lima asked Curtis whether he and Aniston use a specific conflict resolution prayer she had previously shared with her own husband: "I’m sorry. I’m listening. Thank you. I love you."
"We do a lot of meditation, we do a lot of talk," Curtis replied. He clarified that while they have used it before, it is not their primary tool.
"We don’t use this particular prayer. We have. But it’s very easy," Curtis explained. He added that the prayer cited by Lima is best suited for lowering defenses in couples who have been together for years or decades.

Because his relationship with Aniston is still relatively new, Curtis said they rely on different methods. "Jen and I have been together a year and a half, so this tool isn’t the first tool that we go to," he said.
Instead, the couple focuses on "meditation, acceptance, understanding." Curtis added: "Those kinds of things. In the honeymoon phase, your tools don’t have to be like big sledgehammers."
Curtis raved that things are going "really well" between them. "My experience of her is so grounded and so open and caring and kind and loving," he said. "I feel blessed to be in a relationship with someone that is so open-hearted and kind and loving."

Marriage Stance and Relationship Security
Curtis shared his comments shortly after reports emerged regarding the couple's long-term plans. An insider told Page Six last week that Aniston is dead set against walking down the aisle again following her previous marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux.
"They’re still very, very happy. But they have no intention of ever getting married - Jen swears she will never get married again," the source revealed.
Aniston was previously married to film actor Brad Pitt from 2000 until 2005, when he left her for his subsequent wife, Angelina Jolie. The former couple had famously appeared together at the 1999 Emmy Awards.

She later married actor Justin Theroux in 2015, with the pair attending events such as the 2015 Oscars together before separating in 2018.

Despite ruling out marriage, sources indicate the romance is succeeding on levels Aniston has never experienced before. Unlike her marriage to Theroux, Aniston feels secure enough with Curtis not to feel like she has to work to impress him or keep him.
Furthermore, Aniston does not feel the need to compete with other, more famous women who might be after Curtis. A source noted that she never questions where she stands, as Curtis has zero hesitation letting her know he is crazy about her and is totally devoted.
The lack of competition between them also marks a change from her past relationships with Pitt, Theroux, actor Vince Vaughn, and singer John Mayer. "It is all about her and how she feels and what she needs," an insider shared.
The insider added that Curtis has no desire to pursue acting or chase fame. "He never talks about his career or tries to network with her contacts, he has no interest in being an actor or being famous. She has said with him she can exhale, she can let herself go and breathe because there is no pressure."
A-List Friends and Social Life
Aniston maintains a tight-knit circle of friends that includes her Friends costar Courteney Cox, along with Adam Sandler, Jimmy Kimmel, Jason Bateman, Sandra Bullock, and Sean Hayes. Curtis revealed that he has been fully embraced by the group.
Describing the crew as "such a beautiful community and group of people," Curtis said he feels "blessed to be part [of] and welcomed into that family."
"It really speaks to her, and them, that everybody is so grounded, so kind," Curtis said. "There’s a reason why that whole group and community is so beloved."
An insider told the Daily Mail that Curtis fits right in with Aniston's friends, who view him as a cool guy. "She doesn't have to sell Jim, everyone is sold on him! Dinner parties, movie nights, premieres, they are easy breezy for Jen when Jim is by her side because he is so likable," the source noted.
As a life coach and hypnotherapist, Curtis has reportedly acted as a calming presence and healer for the group. "Very often Jim gets people to take deep breaths, to focus on the here and now, to appreciate the good things in life, he is like a human peace sign. He is the dude everyone gravitates toward at a party," the source shared.

The couple recently showcased their bond during a star-studded Friends reunion dinner at the celeb-favorite Sunset Tower hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, on Tuesday.
Aniston and Curtis were joined by Friends stars Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox, as well as Arrested Development actors Jason Bateman and Will Arnett. The group shared hugs and chats outside the venue.
Cox attended the dinner in a low-cut top paired with black pants, while Curtis sported a rugged look with slicked-back hair and a grizzled jawline.
However, the Friends reunion was incomplete, as cast members David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc were not present. Co-star Matthew Perry passed away in 2023.

Dating History and Relationship Timeline
Aniston and Curtis first began dating in early 2025 after being introduced by mutual friends. Curtis later explained on the Today show: "We were just introduced by friends. That's it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat. It took a long time, we chatted for a long time and we became close."
The couple were first spotted together in public during a July 2025 vacation with friends in Majorca.
Aniston made their relationship Instagram official around November 2, 2025, when she shared a photo of them together. Shortly after, they made their first official public appearance at the ELLE Women in Hollywood event in Beverly Hills on November 17, 2025.

In May 2026, the couple celebrated their one-year dating anniversary. A source revealed to the Daily Mail that they planned a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, after Aniston wrapped filming on season five of The Morning Show.
"They want to have some fun in the sun and toast a year of bliss in her favorite place in the world, Cabo," the source said at the time. "She is head over heels for this guy and wants him to be her forever person, so it's fitting they take a romantic break to appreciate one another."
