Katherine Ryan has revealed she spent £25,000 on the facelift she had last year, and says she is now planning further cosmetic procedures including a 'baby Brazilian butt lift'.
The 43 year old Canadian comedian underwent the surgery just eight weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, saying she wanted to 'reclaim her identity'.
Speaking on Olivia Attwood: The Price Of Perfection, Katherine said she had spent the last five years looking like a 'gargoyle' following her pregnancies.
She explained that the procedure was for the benefit of the fans who pay to see her live shows, rather than for herself.
'I've just looked like a gargoyle for the last five years and it has been dissociative,' she said. 'I didn't do it for me, I did it for the people who buy tickets to watch me on a Saturday night. I don't really have to look at myself that often but they do from a lower angle.'
How much the facelift cost
Katherine first had a consultation with Kris Jenner's facelift surgeon in Manhattan, where she was quoted $174,000. She instead chose to have the procedure done by Dr Nick Rhodes at the Coppergate Clinic in York, which cost her £25,000.
She is now considering having her breast implants removed, and is weighing up further surgery to get a 'baby BBL', a smaller, more subtle version of a standard Brazilian butt lift that focuses on light contouring and filling minor dents or hip dips rather than adding large volume.
'I just want to look like the way I did before I had all of these pregnancies,' she said. 'I've got more in the pipeline, people aren't ready for my glow up. I need to get my breast implants out, I loved getting them and it gave me more confidence but they don't suit me anymore. It would be fun to get the fat in my back a little bit into my bum, just reshaping would be nice. A baby BBL.'
Recovery over Christmas
Katherine, who shares baby Holland, Fred, four, and Fenna, three, with husband Bobby Kootstra, and has a 16 year old daughter, Violet, from a previous relationship, said she had 'zero out of ten pain' after the surgery.
'The beauty is you're pretty numb afterwards,' she said. 'I was bruised, and I was swollen, and I think I am still a little bit swollen. But basically, I just went about my daily life from day one. They sent me home with some paracetamol. If I had needed stronger drugs, I think that was available, but I didn't. I took ibuprofen, paracetamol for like three days.'
She said that just weeks after the surgery, she went to Christmas parties, took her children to Lapland, went to the Royal Hall for carolling, did all of the Christmas activities, and looked after a newborn baby.
'Same amount of physical damage'
Katherine said it was important for her marriage that she and Bobby both got to enjoy their children, adding that she thought they should both have the same amount of physical damage. 'And after all those babies... We did not have the same amount of physical damage,' she said. 'Bobby's still a hunk, and my face has gotten fat and thin, and fat and thin, and fat and thin.'
The comedian has long been open about her cosmetic procedures, including a breast augmentation in her early twenties and regular Botox treatments with aesthetician Dr Nina Bal. She had alluded to undergoing cosmetic work in December but did not reveal the specific procedure at the time.
