Katie Price has revealed she has only spent £40,000 of her own money on cosmetic procedures, despite undergoing an estimated 40 surgeries over the years.
The former glamour model, 48, has had multiple surgeries including six face lifts, 17 breast augmentations, dental work and a fox eye operation, with the total cost likely exceeding £100,000. She estimates she has only paid a fraction of that because of the free procedures she has been offered due to her fame, though she insisted she would be able to pay for the work herself if she wanted to.
Price discussed the figures with Olivia Attwood on the latest series of ITV's Price Of Perfection, which investigates the world of celebrity plastic surgery.
Asked by Attwood how many surgeries she thought she had in total, Price said it was really hard to answer, guessing it was maybe about 30 or 40. When Attwood asked whether it had been a mix of free and paid procedures over the years, Price said she had probably paid £40,000 all in. A stunned Attwood asked if that was really it in total, to which Price replied that she could pay for it if she wanted to get it done.
Family concerns over surgery
Price also opened up about her family's fears about the many surgeries she has undergone. She said that for 30 years people had told her she didn't need this or that, but that if she wanted to do something she would do it anyway. She added that she does listen to surgeons now, because if every surgeon did what she wanted she would look more like a freak of nature, and she doesn't want to look freaky.
She said emotionally that there had been times she had thought people weren't looking at her because she looked good, but because she looked like an alien or a puffer fish.
Body dysmorphia admission
Price's mother Amy has been vocal about her concerns over her daughter's surgeries, and in 2023 claimed the star was suffering from body dysmorphia, a condition where a person obsessively worries about apparent flaws in their appearance.
Price said she had always claimed for years that she didn't have body dysmorphia because she didn't think she did. But she said she has now realised she does have it, because she looks in the mirror as she is now and doesn't like what she sees and wants to change something. She said she doesn't know what she gets out of it, but needs to feel happy when she looks in the mirror, and she is so not happy.
Price added that she has never felt comfortable or happy with her looks over the years, saying she would love to know what she would look like if she had never had surgery, but she will never know.
