Keith Urban is reportedly devastated after learning that his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, has moved on with a new man, according to the Daily Mail.
The 58-year-old country star was said to be completely crushed by reports that 59-year-old Kidman had started a relationship with investment businessman Michael Reinstein following the end of their marriage.
The Oscar-winning actress was reportedly photographed in tender moments with Reinstein during a recent outing, with images showing the pair holding hands and sharing a kiss. A source said the photos were a painful blow to Urban, who had reportedly continued to hope he might one day repair his relationship with Kidman.
The source said the door on his relationship with Nicole had closed for good, but that he had still held out hope there might be a chance of reconciliation, adding that he was completely devastated and reliving that deep sense of loss.
The same source said seeing Kidman move on had prompted the singer of "Blue Ain't Your Colour" to reconsider his own emotional future, saying that watching Nicole move forward made him feel he could do the same. Urban was said to be wary of a new relationship drawing heavy media attention, with the source saying he would prefer to keep any future romance out of the spotlight.
The split after 19 years of marriage
Kidman and Urban were married for nearly two decades and have two daughters together. Their separation, after 19 years of marriage, became public in September of last year, and their divorce was finalized in January.
The split followed difficulties the couple faced in the summer of 2025, with Daily Mail sources saying the separation resulted from a situation that had been developing for some time. Shortly after the new year, the former couple reached an agreement finalizing their divorce.
In a March interview with Variety, Kidman discussed the split and said she was grateful her family remained a family and kept moving forward. She said her daughters had suddenly become women, and when asked if she was doing well after the split, she said she was, because she would always keep moving toward what is good.
