Australian musician Keli Holiday has revealed that Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio once tried to hit on his girlfriend at a celebrity birthday party.
Holiday, 35, whose real name is Adam Hyde, shared details of the surreal encounter during an interview on Hit Network's Carrie and Tommy radio show on Friday.

The electronic music star explained that he was attending a birthday celebration for NBA star Ben Simmons when he suddenly found himself surrounded by famous faces. Holiday recalled spotting Canadian rapper Drake across the room, noting his shaved head before walking over to greet him.
"I remember at the party, there was this big, bald, shiny head - and it was Drake!" Holiday told hosts Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little. "He had his shaved head, I was like, 'Oh, s**t!' So, I said hi to Drake and then I got a tap on the shoulder and it was Leonardo DiCaprio and his mate asking for a smoke."

The Dancing2 hitmaker admitted that coming face-to-face with the Hollywood star left him completely stunned. "I was like, 'Oh my God!' That's as famous as it gets!" he said.
Co-host and comedian Tommy Little expressed amusement that a top movie star was asking party guests for cigarettes. "I can't believe Leo is bumming cigs," Little joked during the broadcast.

DiCaprio's party tactic
Holiday soon realized that DiCaprio's request for a cigarette may have been a tactic to approach the woman accompanying him. "I was like, 'What's going on with that?' But then I realised he was hitting on my girlfriend at the time," Holiday said. "That was his move."
Holiday did not name the former girlfriend involved in the encounter or reveal when Simmons' birthday party took place. Little described DiCaprio as the "white whale" of celebrity encounters, noting that even fellow celebrities are surprised to see him out in public.

Bickmore agreed with her co-host, observing that the 51-year-old Titanic star is a regular fixture on the party circuit. "People do sight him quite often, because he does love a party," she said. "So when you ask people who they've seen at parties, his name does come up."
Background and career
Holiday rose to fame as one half of Australian electronic music duo Peking Duk alongside bandmate Reuben Styles. The Canberra-born performer launched his solo alter ego Keli Holiday in 2021 as an outlet for personal music exploring romance and heartbreak.
Holiday is currently in a relationship with media personality Abbie Chatfield. The couple went public with their romance in 2024.
