Peruvian salsa singer Kiara Franco and Cuban reparto artist Rowell Urban have released a new version of "Amantes," a reggaeton classic reworked into a reparto rhythm, marking their first collaboration together.
The song became available on all digital platforms on Thursday, September 10, and arrived alongside a music video featuring both artists, who chose to showcase a different side of their musical style.
A blend of salsa and reparto
The new version of "Amantes" merges salsa and reparto, incorporating the distinct personalities and styles of both Franco and Urban. Production was handled by Ernesto Losa, a producer certified with Gold and Platinum Discs by the RIAA, alongside Ale-Pro, a producer known for his work in the reparto genre.
The collaboration was released through Befocus Music and RM Producciones.
Franco's excitement over the new chapter
Franco did not hide her enthusiasm about this new stage in her career and thanked fans for the support she has received during her weekend performances, where she regularly sings songs including "Confieso," "Como yo nadie te ha amado" and "Amiga mía."
Franco said she was very happy with the support from fans every weekend and thanked them for backing her work. She said it was the first time she had collaborated with Urban, adding that the two had found good chemistry working together and that she was confident their followers would enjoy the song.
Urban's rise in the reparto scene
Urban, who has been making a name for himself in the reparto scene with hits including "Qué rico fue," "Furia repartera" and "Un tin," is now betting on this collaboration with the Peruvian artist. "Un tin" recently received Gold and Platinum Discs certified by the RIAA in 2026, reflecting the Cuban singer's growing international profile.
Urban said working with Franco had been excellent and that he was glad she had joined him on the new song. He said he knew of her talent and was happy with the result, which he said fans would see for themselves in the coming days.
