Kroy Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of reality television star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann, has been arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, on sex crime charges after a female classmate alleged he assaulted her in a gym changing room.
The teenager, who is known as KJ, was taken into custody on Monday for an alleged April 23 offence involving charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery.
According to Fulton County Georgia Juvenile court papers obtained by the Daily Mail, the alleged victim stated that she was at the gym when she saw KJ, and alleged he suggested they go into a co-ed sauna.
Per the documents, to get to the sauna, they had to walk through a family changing room, which is where the alleged incident occurred.
The girl claimed KJ began to touch her and she said no, before alleging that he forced her to perform oral sex on him and attempted multiple times to have sexual intercourse with her by trying to pull down her pants.
She alleged that when she finally managed to get away from him, he pulled up his pants and left.
Mother denies allegations
Zolciak, 48, branded the allegations "reckless and deeply troubling" in a statement to the Daily Mail, strongly defending her teenage son against the claims.
"He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged," Zolciak said. "My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed."
Zolciak added: "Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found. We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations."
Per the court documents, an officer was dispatched to North Fulton Hospital on April 24, 2026, for a reported sexual assault after the alleged victim and her father reported the incident had taken place the previous day inside a nearby gym.
The alleged victim was examined at North Fulton Hospital in Georgia on April 24 and, according to the report, no evidence of male DNA was found in her mouth or vagina.
Legal team claims innocence
Police opened an investigation into the allegations, with an officer stating he began attempting to contact Kroy Sr. on May 14 before speaking with him on May 18, when Kroy Sr. said he would discuss the matter with Kim.
KJ is currently being held without bond at the Juvenile Court of Fulton County and has a hearing scheduled for September 1, according to Page Six.
KJ's attorney, Jason Sheffield, told the Daily Mail: "My client is 100% innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed Polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender Polygrapher."
Sheffield added: "The fact that he's been arrested and is being held without Bond is a tragedy. He is not only presumed innocent, but is in fact, innocent."
"I will work tirelessly to demonstrate to the District Attorney's office the mean spirited nature of these false allegations and to bring a close to this matter as quickly as possible," Sheffield stated. "I'm asking the Public not to presume the truth of these allegations and to give the families on both sides their space and privacy."
Family background and birthday tribute
In June, Zolciak celebrated KJ's 15th birthday on Instagram, sharing photos tracing his growth from a young boy into a high school football player while gushing about his athletic prowess and work ethic.
The birthday tribute was posted just two weeks after Zolciak claimed in her bitter custody case that her children had been able to hear her estranged ex-husband Biermann having sex with multiple partners.
In her Instagram post celebrating KJ, Zolciak wrote: "Happy Birthday to the most incredible son @kjbiermann I had no idea what was missing from my life until you arrived. You changed me in ways I could never fully describe. You taught me strength, compassion, patience, and what the mother-son bond truly means."
She continued: "You are my heart walking outside of my body, and every day you amaze me. So proud of the young man you have become. Your work ethic, dedication, discipline, and drive especially when it comes to football are truly admirable."
Zolciak reminded her son: "No matter how old you get, you will always be my baby, my greatest blessing, and one of my proudest accomplishments. I am grateful every day that I get to be your mom. I love you more than words could ever express."
She concluded the tribute: "I hope this year brings you happiness, success, and everything your heart desires. Happy Birthday, son. Keep chasing your dreams, I'll always be cheering you on. Love you all ways always, Mom."
The former reality television star shared several family photographs, including snaps with KJ's older sisters, Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24, as well as photos highlighting his resemblance to his younger brothers, Kash, 14, and Kane, 12.
Zolciak and Biermann also share 12-year-old daughter Kaia, who is Kane's twin, giving the former couple six children together.
Bitter custody battle and divorce
Biermann, 40, a former linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League, adopted Brielle and Ariana after marrying Zolciak in 2011.
Zolciak, 48, rose to fame as an original cast member on Bravo's reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which debuted in 2008, and later starred in the spin-off series Don't Be Tardy.
The couple parted ways in 2023 after 12 years of marriage, enduring a series of breakups and reconciliations before splitting permanently.
In March, Biermann petitioned the court to grant him full custody of their minor children, accusing Zolciak of "blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities" in a court filing.
Biermann told the court that Zolciak's conduct "would be practically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances," accusations that Zolciak strongly denied.
Responding to the filings, Zolciak said: "I refuse to be bullied or have lies twisted into a narrative about who I am. I will not stay silent; the truth is on my side, and it will come to light, no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it. These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character."
She added: "I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for, something I will never apologize for."
In June, a judge granted Biermann primary physical custody of the couple's four minor children after he alleged that Zolciak was "unstable and unfit," though both parents continue to share joint legal custody.
