King Charles Set Private Term for Prince Harry Meeting

King Charles required total privacy with no photos for his Highgrove House meeting with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children.

King Charles Set Private Term for Prince Harry Meeting

King Charles insisted on complete privacy before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet at Highgrove House, forbidding photos or released details. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with the King and Queen during their stay in Britain without giving further information.

Woman and Home royal editor Emily Andrews reported that the choice to release nothing followed an explicit wish from the monarch. She stated that there was no update from either Buckingham Palace or the Sussexes about the afternoon tea at Highgrove, and no photos were taken.

Andrews explained that the King wanted the meeting to remain strictly private to protect the trust being restored between him, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. Although Markle shared photos of the family's European trip on social media, she posted no pictures of Charles with the two children.

Past jubilee requests

The report linked the privacy measure to events in 2022 during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee. Andrews noted that the couple had asked for a trusted photographer to capture Queen Elizabeth meeting Princess Lilibet for the first time, but the request was turned down and no photo was released.

No similar request was reported during this visit, and Andrews indicated the Sussexes respected the King's wishes. However, Prince William reportedly disagreed with holding the gathering at all.

Andrews stated that William believed the couple should not receive a family meeting with the King, even away from the public eye. She added that while the King held the meeting, William continues taking on more official duties.

Royal author insights

The report referenced author Robert Jobson's book The Windsor Legacy regarding the brothers' relationship. Jobson wrote that William was furious after Harry stated publicly in 2021 that his brother was trapped in the royal system.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor the Sussexes have commented on the specifics of the Highgrove meeting, and details about their conversation remain limited.
