Kyivstar TV will premiere its first original full-length feature film, "Hotel Falcon Glow," on August 24, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day. The film was produced by FILM.UA Group exclusively for the streaming platform.
The story centers on a family-run hotel called Falcon Glow, founded by Vasyl Sokil in the Carpathian Mountains. The hotel takes its name from a mysterious natural light that appears above the mountain, which for Vasyl symbolized the soul of the place and his deep connection to the Carpathians.
After Vasyl dies in the war, the hotel passes to his wife Oksana, played by Anhelina Samchyk, and gradually falls into decline. The Falcon Glow phenomenon disappears along with him, as though the founder's death took the place's soul with it. As the family business faces collapse, Oksana must fight to preserve the hotel and what makes it unique.
Meanwhile, the owners of a neighboring hotel want to buy Falcon Glow to modernize it and turn the Carpathians into a major tourist destination. The film asks whether a place can be changed without losing its soul, and whether the mysterious light above the mountain will ever return.
Cast and soundtrack
Musician PARFENIUK created an original soundtrack for the film and makes his first on-screen film appearance in a small role. The film also features cameo appearances from Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi, Marco Chervetti, Alik Mkrtchian and DZIDZIO.
The lead roles are played by Maksym Devizorov, Anhelina Samchyk, Oleksandr Suhak, Inna Prykhodko, Oleksandr Yarema, Bohdan Ruban and Liliya Tsvielikova. The film is directed by Andriy Kolesnyk.
