Television presenter Lambros Konstantaras has confirmed he has no relationship with former co-host Ioanna Maleskou, telling the Greek programme Hamogela Kai Pali that they were never friends.
Konstantaras addressed their professional split after broadcaster Open TV decided to cancel their joint weekend show. He insisted he feels no bitterness or sense of injustice that Maleskou is now fronting a different programme on the same network, explaining that channel executives chose to end their weekend collaboration and wanted him for an evening slot instead.
He added that the two presenters do not stay in touch because they were never friends before working together and had no reason to maintain contact afterwards.
New talk show on Open TV
Konstantaras revealed that he is currently on standby for a new evening talk show that has been in development at Open TV since May. He joked that the lengthy preparation could win an award for how long it has taken to put together, but he stressed that the finished broadcast will be well constructed and will offer a format quite different from standard late-night shows.
Offering his critique of the broader television landscape, Konstantaras argued that the medium is 95 percent predictable. He said that average viewers constantly experiment by changing channels, remarking that if someone appears on screen whose opinion he does not care about, he simply refuses to watch.
Personal life and background
Konstantaras also commented on his personal life and his relationship with Elena Tsagkrinou. He described his partner as a sweet girl and said he feels they suit one another, even though they might appear mismatched on the surface.
Open TV is a nationwide commercial television channel in Greece, broadcasting news and entertainment programming. Both Konstantaras and Maleskou are established figures on Greek television, having built their careers hosting daytime magazine programmes, morning infotainment formats and panel discussions across major broadcast networks.
Konstantaras confirmed he remains on standby while Open TV continues developing the project, noting that the late-night talk show will make its television debut once production preparations are complete.
