Liam Neeson stars in the new action thriller The Mongoose, which launches on Amazon Prime Video in Spain on November 4 just five days after its theatrical premiere in the United States.

Audiences in the United States have been able to watch the film, titled La mangosta in Spanish, in movie theaters since October 30. Viewers in Spain will instead see the movie debut directly on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service less than a week after its North American cinema launch.
The streaming release follows a broader pattern in which moviegoers in Spain have missed out on theatrical runs that took place in other countries such as the United States. American cinema audiences were previously able to watch The Love of Your Life, known in Spanish as El amor de tu vida and starring Margaret Qualley, on the big screen before it bypassed Spanish theaters.
Neeson, a Northern Irish actor, has spent years as one of the most recognizable figures in action cinema through films such as Taken, which was released in Spain under the title Venganza. That thriller franchise established Neeson as a bankable action lead known for playing resourceful men with specialized combat training who are forced into relentless conflicts.
High-Speed Police Chase Across the United States
In The Mongoose, Neeson returns to playing a man hunted by the authorities. He portrays Ryan Flanagan, a decorated war hero and former member of the special forces who goes by the nickname Fang and struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder following his military service.
Post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences or witnesses severe trauma, including military combat. Veterans living with the condition often face persistent psychological strain while trying to readjust to civilian routines after leaving active duty.
Flanagan finds his life turned upside down when he is accused of a crime that he insists he did not commit. Refusing to be locked up for an offense he maintains he had no part in, he decides to flee by car, reflecting the film promotional tagline that innocent people do not run away, they drive.
His getaway sparks a major police chase that stretches across the United States. Far from remaining a quiet or discreet flight from the law, the pursuit turns into a public spectacle followed closely by spectators who grow increasingly fascinated by Flanagan and his defiance.
As law enforcement officers attempt to intercept and arrest him, Flanagan receives help from his former brothers-in-arms from the military, whose intervention makes the police operation even more complicated. The thriller combines high-speed driving sequences with the portrait of a combat veteran who feels he has nothing left to lose.
Supporting Cast and Director Mark Vanselow
Alongside Neeson, the cast features Marisa Tomei as Tara, Flanagan's former partner. Veteran actor Ving Rhames, a regular presence in action cinema best known for his recurring role in the Mission: Impossible film franchise, also stars in the movie alongside Michael Chiklis, who gained widespread recognition leading the police drama series The Shield.
Together, Tomei, Rhames, and Chiklis bring decades of experience across action blockbusters, crime dramas, and character-driven films to the supporting ensemble surrounding Neeson's fugitive protagonist.
The movie is directed by Mark Vanselow from a screenplay written by Thompson Evans. Vanselow is a frequent collaborator of Neeson who has worked with the actor for years as a stunt coordinator, and The Mongoose marks his debut as the director of a feature film.
As a stunt coordinator, Vanselow specialized in planning and supervising complex fight choreography, physical stunts, and vehicle chases on action sets before stepping into the director chair. Amazon Prime Video subscribers will be able to stream the result when The Mongoose arrives on the platform on November 4.
