What do Cozinha Tupis and Cora have in common? Both share the dream of reviving the historic center and the places that once played an important role in building the habits and history of their cities: São Paulo and Belo Horizonte. It is in this parallel that the union of The Tupi kitchena Grupo Viela restaurant – responsible for the revitalization of the Mercado Novo and including several projects in the city (Juramento 202, Cervejaria Viela, Forno da Saudade) – and the restaurant to blushwhich occupies the top of the building renovated by Planta Inc, which allows the activation of underutilized properties in the central region of São Paulo.
This Tuesday, February 14, Chef Pablo Inca welcomes Henrique Gilberto, who brings his cuisine and the whole atmosphere of the Mercado Novo in downtown São Paulo, to the Cora. In a 5-step menu that tells the affective story of daily life in Belo Horizonte, starting with bread and ending with bread.
From Cassava Bread to Crunchy Butter, followed by the non-trivial Rice with Egg, Henrique Gilberto’s dishes refer to real institutions, the cultural heritage of Belo Horizonte, as in the case of Frango do Zé Luis – a bar located in the basement of the market that works at dawn, for the kiosks and revelers on duty – and the burnt milk coffee with buttered bread, which is the obligatory stop at the padoca, the morning after the night of celebration. To be sipped together with the dishes, Juramento 202 beers and signature drinks based on Brazilian distillates and botanicals, such as Brasilberg and Para-Tudo. An ode to the bohemian life of Belo Horizonte in downtown São Paulo.
Reservations are made directly with Cora, with full payment of the menu in 5 times for the amount of R$ 250 per person (drinks and service not included).
