With this in mind, Dr. Fernanda Lopes, clinical nutritionist of Emagrecentro, suggests some steps to eliminate swelling and get back on track with a healthy diet. Watch:

Nothing to compensate!

Thinking about going a long time without eating or eating in very small quantities to compensate for the excesses committed during the holidays is a big mistake! In fact, this usually doesn’t help with weight loss or health.

“Restriction generates hunger spikes, which lead to high food intake at one time. This, later on, can still generate an eating disorder and become a vicious cycle,” explains Lopes.

drink lots of water

The right thing is to ingest an average of 2 liters of water a day, see? This will help you flush out toxins, regain hydration, and more easily identify when you’re really hungry.

Don’t skimp on the salad!

If you have one type of dish that can help you deflate and detox and is a great addition to our meal plan, it’s salads. These foods have good amount of fiber and mineral salts, ensuring good intestinal functioning, as the vitamins and minerals present in the salad are directly related to the rebalancing of the intestinal flora. Therefore, the more variety and colors of the salad, the better.

Anti-inflammatory foods are excellent allies

Don’t forget to add anti-inflammatory foods to your diet as well. “To facilitate the process, ginger, turmeric, chia seeds or flax seeds and dark green vegetables can be included in the diet, as they are essential to help detoxify the body”, comments the expert.
