Amanda, of ‘BBB 23’, caused controversy last week by resorting to an unusual oral hygiene device: the doctor was caught using a strand of hair instead of floss. The scene was seen by reality TV viewers and caused a stir on the web.
Very naturally, Pipoca’s doctor took a strand of his hair in front of his fellow inmates, separated a strand and used it to remove the dirt between his teeth, as if it were dental floss.
The practice is completely discouraged by health professionals and can involve risks, since the hair contains dirt that should not be brought into the mouth, especially for cleaning the gums.
Under no circumstances replace dental floss with strings, threads and toothpicks, as they can injure the mouth and damage the teeth.
