Casa Clan warns against exhaustion and female mental health

The event schedule continues until this Saturday (11)

Household chores, work, children and study are just some of the worries women face in their routine. All these needs generate an emotional and physical strain that makes them distance themselves. After all, in the midst of so many things to solve, they don’t even have a few minutes left to look at each other with more affection and attention. It is precisely because of this mental load that many women end up reaching burnout.

On Friday (10), female fatigue was one of the topics covered in the talk “How to deal with stress: is it possible to stop being an exhausted woman?” House of the clanwomen’s event that brings together CLAUDIA, Baby.com, Good shape and Elástica, at Casa Higienópolis, in São Paulo. Marcela CeribelliCEO of Obvious and author of the book “Aurora: The Exhausted Woman’s Awakening”, e queen chamonDoctor, meditator and our columnist, she had a chat with the audience about the difficulty women experience when trying to free themselves from the chaos of daily life and the expectations that society places on them.

“There’s something in us that we always think we’re not enough, that we always have to do a little more. Sometimes, when we’re exhausted or burnt out, we need a month to recover. And who offered us all this time ? Nobody,” Regina Chamon mused during the conversation in the Clan House.

According to Chamon, anyone who thinks that only spas, yoga courses or other more complex relaxation techniques are the solution to slow down from daily stress are wrong. In fact, he claims that even simple practices can make a difference, such as drinking water, breathing deeply or eating fruit.

In the interview, mediated by the journalist Elena GalanteMarcela took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of rest and fighting that must always be engaged.

“For a long time in my life I blamed myself if I had holes in the middle of the week. But I work every day of the week, at different times when people don’t usually work. The problem is that I’m here , as are so many women , in the idea that female success must be accompanied by a certain sacrifice”, highlighted the presenter of the podcast “Bom dia, Ovvio”.

When it comes to rest, the first idea we have is sleeping or sitting on the sofa. However, this moment of pause can also involve something that moves us, for example cooking, meditating or practicing some physical activity that gives us pleasure.

“There are many types of rest. I think exercise is a way to rest. Many people may think I’m crazy. But my tiredness is very mental, so I’m so exhausted that I need to move my body,” reported to the CEO.

Incidentally, scientific studies have already demonstrated the benefits of exercises for psychological aspects, as they help improve mood, increase the quality of sleep and relieve stress and anxiety.

Also during the table, Regina Chamon underlined that the opposite of stress is not calm, but security.

“There are some researchers who say that stress is an imbalance between demand and resources. That is, when we have more demand than resources, this generates stress. When we have more resources than demand, this generates what, in the physiology of the body, we call it relaxation response, but that is actually the feeling of security,” he clarified.
