Varicose vein surgery: Discover the procedure that removed Ana Maria Braga from TV

The presenter was operated on for varicose veins and had to leave the command of Mais Você. On the networks, she said that she was fine

On Monday (27), it was not Ana Maria Braga who commanded the Mais Você program (TV Globo) as usual. Last Friday she explained the reason on social media: the presenter had to leave to undergo surgery for varicose veins.

“Whoever accompanies me on #MaisYou already know, but this weekend I will need surgery. It is very quiet, to make my “legs” even more beautiful,” says an excerpt from the press release.

Fast recovery

Ana Maria is expected to undergo a procedure with no “downtime” (i.e. with little or no recovery). This way, she can stay active during the process.

“Varicose vein surgery has been replaced by an elaborate treatment plan and stepwise treatment (done in stages), within the vascular office,” explains vascular surgeon Dr. Aline Lamaita, a member of the Brazilian Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery, which emphasizes that it is a procedure with excellent results.

The concept was born from the Flebosuite, a room equipped for a complete vascular evaluation: with augmented reality equipment, Doppler ultrasound, transdermal laser, skin cooler, sclerotherapy material and intravenous laser equipment, as well as adequate photographic documentation, details the specialist.

“In this new reality, the patient undergoes a thorough evaluation, from the consultation, passing through the physical examination, complementary examinations. A phlebogram is thus drawn, an elaborate drawing with details of the patient’s entire venous system”, says the doctor.

From this phlebogram a plan is obtained, with the combination of one or more procedures. The aim is to improve circulation and the aesthetic appearance of the legs. “After all, different veins require different treatments, and that will determine what goes into your personalized treatment plan.”

Procedures similar to varicose vein surgery

While varicose vein surgery is known for its long recovery time, other procedures can provide the same results but in a much less invasive way. Dr. Aline Lamaita some techniques:

Thermal ablation of the saphenous vein: Minimally invasive treatment of the saphenous vein. In it, the responsible professional introduces an optical fiber into the vein without the need for cuts, the treatment takes place inside and then the body itself absorbs it. Aline points out that this is the best treatment for the saphenous vein.

thick foam: injection of product in the form of mousse in large caliber veins, in place of microsurgery. It requires no rest.

ClaCs (Cryolaser + cryosclerotherapy): “The technique devised by Professor Doctor Kasuo Miyake combines transdermal laser with sclerotherapy (glucose injections), a treatment suitable for smaller and superficial veins of the skin. It can also be an option for varicose veins (the famous spider veins),” explains the doctor.

It also requires no rest. However, you must avoid the sun for a period of 10 days after each session.

ATTENTION: technique used for the treatment of varicose veins by puncture and passage of an optical fiber, without cuts, without rest.

ClaF: association of the transdermal laser with foam, which can be an option for large and even superficial veins. He also doesn’t need rest.

According to the doctor, a treatment plan will consist of one or a few of the procedures proposed above. “The decision for which technique or techniques to use will be taken by the characteristics of the veins, but above all: the treatments are minimally invasive, practically without rest and are performed in the studio, without the need for hospitalization”, he concludes.

return soon

After undergoing varicose vein surgery, Ana Maria Braga posted on her Instagram Stories that the procedure went well. In addition, she added that she will return to Mais Você mornings soon.
