Who has never been lazy and slept with wet hair throws the first stone. But did you know that this is a habit that can end in the health of your hair?
Celso Kamura, celebrity hairstylist and Wella Professionals Ambassador, spoke to the Earth and gave advice on the do’s and most importantly the don’ts to keep your hair healthy.
Absolutely no hot water!
Some destructive hair habits we commit in everyday life. One of them is to use hot water to disinfect. “It dries out the hair a lot and causes serious damage over time. Sleeping with wet hair is also extremely dangerous, as some hair takes up to 24 hours to dry completely. I usually tell my clients that wet hair and a damp scalp are the perfect environment for bacteria to grow,” Kamura guarantees.
Hair blocked?
The expert also says that tying threads with very strong rubber bands or those “money” rubber bands is harmful. “It totally breaks the strings. My advice is to opt for fabric scrunchies,” he warns.
Be careful with drinks and food
Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, and poor diet are factors that help weaken the strands. “Our beauty comes from within. If you don’t follow a healthy diet, don’t exercise, don’t drink water, don’t sleep well, abuse alcoholic beverages, your hair will already be naturally fragile,” the expert complains.
Kamura still pays attention to the age issue. “As we pass the age of 40, our hair already shows changes due to lifestyle. There are some hair issues that are unrelated to this and will be present, but most are directly related to our choices,” she points out.
It’s forbidden
Cutting the threads yourself, coloring yourself or bleaching at home (if you don’t have practice and experience), taking a very hot shower and abusing thermal tools (iron and babyliss) without thermal protection, are practices that the expert under no circumstances advise anyone.
