Twilight, only better? What do we know about Stephenie Meyer’s new vampire series?

Fans, tremble: it seems that 15 years after the release of the first film, the legendary Twilight saga can please us with new parts! Such information reported authoritative edition from trusted sources The Hollywood Reporter. According to this information, the film company Lionsgate Television, which released the saga on the big screen, has embarked on a new adaptation of the project, planning to reformat it in a series format more relevant today.

According to the media, representatives of the company are now looking for a screenwriter for the future series. One of the potential show’s producers has already been named Wyck Godfrey. Previously, he produced the release of all parts of “Twilight”. Also, sources told reporters that Stephenie Meyer herself would also participate in the new film adaptation: it is quite possible that she is also a producer, as was the case with the last parts of the saga.

It’s still too early to talk about the estimated date of the series – after all, no one knows for sure if it will be released. Nevertheless, we can already try to draw the first conclusions about the sequel to Twilight. It’s not for nothing that we’ve been fans of the love story of a college girl and a vampire for years 😉

As soon as the information about the new “Twilight” appeared on social networks, the indignation of fans began to be heard from all sides. Is it really possible to just take and redo the “classics” ? Especially when you know that not 20 or 30 years have passed since the release of the first film, and every day it gains new, younger fans!

No one is even counting on Chris and Rob’s participation in the new film adaptation of the vampire melodrama. They are now birds of another flight! Pattinson is preparing to shoot Batman 2. Stewart is also presiding over the Berlin Film Festival jury this year – and is rumored to be directing his own auteur film.

Personally, we, as long-time fans of the saga, want to believe in this version. Especially since in 2020, after the successful release of the book Midnight Sun, where the story of the acquaintance of Bella and Edward is told from the point of view of the vampire himself, Stephenie Meyer confessedthat she plans to write two more books in the series – and has even sketched out the beginning of one of them.

The writer hinted that in the new books she wants to expand the story of other characters in the saga. And even talk about the one of the heroes who is still destined to die. Intriguing, isn’t it?

Everyone who knows at least a little about the magical world of Twilight knows that neither vampires nor werewolves age (with the latter everything is a little more complicated). So not only Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, but also the werewolf Taylor Lautner and the whole Cullen family (Nicky Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and others) will probably not return to the series. And the rest of the actors who played non-human characters.

Of course, professional makeup works wonders, especially when paired with the latest in editing, viewing, and filming technology. And yet, let’s be honest: in the 2010s, from film to film, all the vampires were visually aging. It is therefore unlikely that today, in the frame, the same actors will look as if nothing has changed over the years.

Nevertheless, whatever the new Twilight is, we will definitely watch them. It’s entirely possible that the saga will once again enchant millions of hearts – and mark the start of an incredible career for new Bella and Edward. The main thing is that this series is still out. Although we love the classics, we are already burning with anticipation. We look forward to more information on this!
