Roll up your sleeves and follow the guidelines: you will have an exclusive pendant in just 10 steps!
Even someone who has never changed a light bulb will find it difficult to make this cute felt pendant full of butterflies. This was stated by the engineer from São Paulo Flávia Ferrari, author of this step-by-step guide and also of the blog DecoraCasa . Inspired by an imported model, he made the garment with cheap and easily available materials, starting with the fabric itself.
“I chose synthetic felt because, in addition to being cheaper than wool, it accepts hot glue better,” explains the blogger. If you have an old lampshade lying around the house, take advantage of it to save money by reusing the dome, as long as the structure is in good condition. To leave the lamp with your style, you can use fabrics of different colors and give free rein to your imagination by thinking of new designs as a model. Download the butterfly template.

You will need:
• TNT dome n. 18
• 1 m of synthetic felt
• Universal socket
• 2 m of parallel wire
• Canopy
• A3 sheet, pencil, hot glue, white glue, scissors and screwdriver
Cost: About $50
Estimated time: 3 hours
Roll up your sleeves and follow the guidelines: you will have an exclusive pendant in just 10 steps!
1. Align the seam of the dome (visible on the back) with the side of the paper – leave about 10cm free at the bottom edge. Slide the piece across the sheet, drawing a line. Stop the stroke when you reach the seam again – you’ll have a design of about 1/4 circle.
2. Along the bottom edge of this design, create an outline however you like, including butterflies (use the template) along the edge.
3. Cut, transfer this new pattern to the felt and cut the fabric. Reserve.
4. Transfer the butterfly motif to the felt and cut out. Repeat until you reach the desired number of pieces to sprinkle on the charm – here, there were 20 butterflies.
5. With hot glue, spread them on the felt base, but attach only the central part of the body – the wings are melted.
6. Apply white glue to the dome and secure the felt, forming a cone – but don’t let the fabric sag!
7. While it dries (for at least two hours), do the electrical part: separate the ends of the wire and, with scissors, strip the ends. Open the socket with the screwdriver, place each end on one of the ends and tighten with the screwdriver.
8. Thread the string through the inside of the dome, holding it in the center so the dome doesn’t fall to the side.
9. Finish off the fabric by cutting off the excess. On top, keep an excess, like a flap, and secure it with hot glue.
10. Pass the string through the canopy, adjusting the height of the pendant. After that, just place a lamp and choose the place for installation.
