Not just “Knock on my door”: the best series with Turkish handsome Kerem Bursin

Kerem Bursin is a Turkish actor, known to Russian television viewers largely thanks to the iconic role of architect Serkan Bolat. However, Altan Denmez’s serial melodrama, which became a hit, is not the only TV show where the actor managed to show his talent.

Raised in the United States and brought up by the Hollywood film school, Kerem Bursin works in his native Turkey and not only acts in films, but also produces and directs projects. Made for you a selection of series starring “Knock on my door”. Genres for all tastes – from sitcoms to crime dramas.

“Waiting for the Sun” (2013, season 1)

The first major project of Kerem Bursin, in which he immediately got the main role. Altan Denmez, the director of the series, himself invited the actor to shoot, but set him one condition – to learn the Turkish language. “A Matter of Honor” (2014, Season 1)

A Matter of Honor is a Turkish remake of the Italian series Honor and Respect. The series tells the story of two brothers – Emir, an incredibly talented, but modest and shy guy, and Yigit, a self-confident egoist. It is easy to guess that it is his role that Kerem Bursin plays, supporting the arrogant snob. Yigit yearns for money and recognition, as well as the love of Sibel, a local beauty. However, in order to compete for his heart, he will have to face the enemy in the person of his own brother. “A Matter of Honor” is a crime drama that holds high positions in the global ratings. Although the series is not an epic like The Magnificent Age – it has only 26 episodes – it fully reveals the characters’ difficult characters and tells of difficult choices: on one side of the scale there are interests and personal goals, and on the other – friends and family.

“Lifeless” (2018, season 1)

In this show, Bursin worked both as an actor and as a director. The series explores the theme of vampires, new to the Turkish film industry. However, the plot of the series also stands out against the background of vampire sagas familiar to Western viewers: the main character is trying to free himself from the curse of immortality and become human again. To do this, she must kill one of the most powerful vampires in history – Dmitry, whose role is played by Bursin.
Alas, the series’ IMDb rating is only 4.8 out of 10. The director himself, however, was satisfied with both the resulting project and the role he played: he admits to having always dreamed of transform into a vampire in front of the camera. , and also hopes to shoot the second season.

“The Magnificent Deuce” (2018, season 1)

Crime drama with an action twist – here Kerem Bursin plays policeman Mustafa Kerim, who is forced to team up with his rival to fight a common enemy, an organized crime group. Kerem’s character here comes across to the audience as selfish and proud, as well as incredibly picky. It is interesting that he does not repel the public with these negative character traits: many note Kerem’s impeccable acting. Mustafa from The Magnificent Two is often compared to Serkan Bolat.

“The Pure Truth” (2019, 7 seasons)

Unlike the previous series in the collection, the Pure Truth genre is a comedy in which, as the title suggests, the whole essence of the relationship between a woman and a man is revealed. The main characters here are Emir and Nil, between whom feelings only arise. Kerem Bursin appears in a small but unforgettable role as Nile’s neighbor Deniz. As always, the character of the actor is attractive and inaccessible.

“The Pure Truth” is a short sitcom, the episodes here last no more than ten minutes. Watching an entire season can easily make for a boring evening!
