How to make ‘Coronation Sauce’ for Swedish Meatballs: This recipe is a hit online

Preparations for the coronation of Charles III turned out to be full of contradictions, but they did not interfere with the main thing – the planning of refreshments. And not only subtly greedy! On the eve of May 6, Ikea’s special “coronation” sauce for meatballs was particularly popular. Internet users quickly understood the recipe, and we share it here.

Coronation Chicken is a traditional dish of modern British cuisine. A luxurious recipe for a bird cooked in a special way was developed in 1953 for the ascension to the throne of the late Elizabeth II and became the basis of the daily dish of the inhabitants of Foggy Albion. It is a salad or spread for sandwiches with finely minced chicken meat in a spicy curry sauce with dried fruits and hot peppers.

In early May, Britain’s Ikea started serving a limited-edition version of the traditional shchetboular meatballs – they’re made from chicken or vegetable protein and served with an unusual sauce. The dish, as you might guess, is dedicated to May 6, the coronation of Charles III. And, although Karl himself chose the quiche as his official recipe, for ordinary people the “coronation chicken” – and everything that resembles it – remains the symbol of the corona holiday.

Netizens praised the new sauce and quickly picked up on its recipe. And everyone can repeat it at home and serve it with their favorite meatballs – the fact that we don’t have a king or Ikea does not hurt.
