According to Palmirinha’s family, the death occurred as a result of worsening chronic kidney problems. The presenter had been hospitalized in the Paulista Unit of the Alemão Oswaldo Cruz Hospital since 11 April.
Palmirinha is survived by three daughters-in-law/sons-in-law, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Information about the wake and burial will be released soon, according to family members.
“Palmirinha was considered Brazil’s most beloved grandmother for her decades-long work as a host of cooking shows on open and closed TVs. Her simple and engaging way of presenting her recipes was what earned her a legion of fans, friends and girlfriends, as he called them,” the statement read.
“An example of a mother who has always struggled to keep her home, provide an education and a dignified and quality life for her three daughters, Palmirinha is a reference of a warrior woman who also knew how to face and overcome the difficulties of life”.
