According to the BO, the boy’s mother, 34, was hospitalized at 28 weeks of pregnancy and due to an increase in blood pressure, the medical team decided to induce labour. According to the investigation of G1the girl’s father was called at one point to closely observe the procedure e he could even see the girl blink and move her mouth.
But then a commotion took over the delivery room and the doctor climbed onto the mother’s belly to quickly remove the baby. It was then that he was found to have “ripped off the head” of the child.
Questionable conduct under investigation
Hours later, according to the police report, a social worker appeared to inform them that the HC would cover all burial costs. In addition, parents were asked to sign a document stating this the autopsy would be performed by the institution itself and not by the Medical Legal Institute (IML) of the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG).
In a statement, the PCMG announced that an investigation was being launched to determine whether there was medical malpractice or malpractice. UFMG Hospital das Clínicas mourned the deaths and said the facts are being investigated.
