Orange Pie Blender:
- 2 pear oranges, peeled, without seeds and white fibers (see pre-preparation)
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups of oil (tea)
- 1 1/2 cups (tea) sugar
- 2 cups flour (tea) + a little for dusting
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- oil or butter to grease the pan
Orange glaze:
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (pastry)
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (juice)
- 1 orange (the zest of the zest)
- water – enough to make a point
PRE-PREPARATION:
- Separate recipe ingredients and utensils.
- To prepare 1 whole recipe, adjust quantities for 4 people.
- Wash the orange and grate the peel of half the units.
- Peel the oranges (you can leave half with the peel to give more flavor to the dough), cut them in half and squeeze only the amount of juice for the glaze.
- Cut again to discard the seeds and white fibers.
- Sift the flour into a bowl and set aside.
- Grease the mold with oil or butter and sprinkle with flour.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
PREPARATION:
Orange Pie Blender:
- Put the orange pieces in the blender.
- Add the eggs and sugar and beat until you get a smooth cream.
- Add the oil and beat to incorporate.
- Transfer the dough into a bowl and add the flour, a little at a time, mixing after each addition.
- Finally add the yeast.
- Put it in greased and sprinkled form.
- Place in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through.
- To check if it’s cooked, do the toothpick test – put the toothpick in the center of the cake, if it comes out clean it’s ready.
- Turn off the oven, remove the cake and shake it to see if it comes away from the pan.
- Turn onto a plate or board.
Orange glaze:
- While the cake is baking, sift the icing sugar over a bowl.
- Add the reserved orange juice to the sugar and mix well.
- Gradually add a little water, stirring until you get the desired consistency – it should be like a soft paste.
- Incorporate the orange zest.
FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY:
- Invert the cake onto the serving platter or platter.
- Cover with the orange glaze.
- Store at room temperature.
