According to recent research from Bumble, almost 9 out of 10 women surveyed in Brazil (87%) take some sort of extra safety precaution when meeting someone in person for the first time. Among the strategies adopted were informing a friend or relative of the address where the meeting will take place (43%), sharing one’s position live with a friend (25%) and even sharing a photo of one’s ‘appointment’ with a friend (11%) before finding it.

Therefore, the application has developed an alternative that promises to promote safer and friendlier first dates: the Bumble Spots. This initiative aims to partner with carefully selected establishments committed to offering a safer space to their customers.

This measure comes shortly after the approval of the Chamber of Sao Paulo of a project that will oblige employees of bars and nightclubs to support victims of sexual harassment and violence in their premises.
