An extraordinary scene took place on Tuesday evening (27) at the Hospital da Santa Casa, in Pelotas, in the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul, when a pregnant woman went into labor and gave birth. in the light inside the elevator. The incredible event was captured on video and widely shared.

As soon as he realized that the woman was in labor, Dr. Daiane Acosta, the doctor in charge of monitoring her pregnancy, advised her to go to the hospital without delay.

In the recorded images it is possible to observe the moment in which Daiana Freitas, the mother of the newborn, arrives at the hospital and is promptly assisted by a team of health workers. They quickly put her in a wheelchair, intending to take her to the space where her birth was to take place. However, to everyone’s surprise, the baby didn’t want to wait and decided to come into the world inside the elevator.

The speed with which everything happened impressed everyone present. It took only 19 minutes from the doctor’s call to the birth of the baby. Pedro Ruan, as the baby was called, was born weighing 3,250 kg and measuring 50 centimetres. Fortunately both mother and baby are doing well, and both have already been discharged from the hospital, ready to begin this new phase of their life together.
