Rituals to do on Ogun Day and renew your protection

To renew the protection

At seven on a Tuesday evening, Ogum Day, cut an avocado in half and remove the pit. Then pass the dendê oil on the pulp. Now place the two halves on a plate and light a dark blue candle in the center. After that, say with great faith: “Ogunhê, Ogun patacori, Orisha who is great and who answers the requests of her children. Hail holy warrior. I (pronounce your full name three times), summon your strength, your light and your protection, and I ask you, my father, with all faith in my heart, to open the ways and protect me. Thank you my father, Saravá Ogun”. Finally, he says a prayer of your choice. When the candle goes out, he leaves the avocado under a tree. The remains of the candle should be thrown in the trash and the plate should be washed and used normally.

Ogun bath for protection

On the day of Ogum, boil two liters of water and add a sword leaf of Saint-Jorge cut into seven pieces. Turn off the heat and leave the closed pan to rest for about three hours. Take your hygienic bath while mentalizing the renewal of protection and then pour the mixture from the neck down, asking the orixá warrior for protection.

To attract good vibes

First, take a sprig of rosemary, a handful of star anise, a sprig of basil, a handful of rock salt and seven drops of lavender essential oil. On Ogum day, mix all these ingredients in two liters of water and boil for about fifteen minutes. Mention Ogun’s protection as you prepare this ritual. Take your hygienic bath and then pour the mixture on your body, from the bottom of your neck, making your request to the orixá. Let your body dry naturally. Wear light clothes to attract positive energies.
