According to a survey carried out by the successone of the most downloaded dating apps in the world Gen Zers age 18-24 use dating apps to meet and make new friends they may have common points with them.
“Gen Z is increasingly open to meeting new people and, moreover, they are the generation most open to using apps in ways other than what they were created for,” notes Michael Illas, dating expert at success.
Youth intention in apps
According to the survey, which evaluated Generation Z’s behavior patterns on dating apps, 21% of young people use these platforms to meet new people and make friends.
On the other hand, 48% said they still don’t know exactly what they’re looking for in apps. “It’s very interesting to follow this generation, and we see that single young people have some important differences from older ones,” assesses Michael.
Courtship or friendship?
Although Generation Z is looking to establish new friendships rather than relationships on dating apps, the expert highlights another interesting fact which shows that most of the respondents have already felt attracted to a friend.
“Young people are always surrounded by people with the same tastes, interests and subjects in common with what they prefer. 73% of singles aged 18 to 24 he confirmed it he already had friends who have become crush‘ he says.
