Amid the family quarrel that has had repercussions in the press, the parents of the actress and singer Larissa Manoela decided to speak. In an open letter released by the “Fofocalizando” program last week, Silvana Taques and Gilberto Elias denied the sale of the artist’s villa without his consent and stressed that they always give priority to “patrimonial, material, immaterial and legal security” of the daughter.
In an excerpt from the text, they recall that, in the past, they left their jobs in favor of the young woman’s career: Larissa, 22, started working as a child, at the age of 4. “We always try to provide the best emotional and financial support, always taking care of her good image and ensuring the best way to apply and multiply all the income of our work, since in addition to being parents who have abandoned their profession, we have been her entrepreneurs and all that was done was always with her knowledge and participation.(…) As parents, our greatest concern has always been the well-being and happiness of our only daughter and heiress.”
On social media, the repercussion was divisive: on the one hand, Larissa’s critics who regretted the disagreement with her family; on the other, fans and defenders of the actress, uncomfortable with the terms used by her parents.
Heiress or owner?
As the couple’s daughter, Larissa must inherit the assets they leave behind. But the goods acquired with her artistic work are hers and hers.
In order to understand and explain to the public the rules applied in similar cases, the Earth consulted two lawyers, specialists in family law and private law. Both agree that, more than a power, parents have an obligation to manage their children’s assets.
“According to article 1.619 of the civil code, parents jointly have the right to enjoy the assets of their children while the children are minors, just as parents have the administration of the assets of their minor children in the exercise of family authority ” , says Terezinha Fernandes de Oliveira, with more than 20 years of experience in family law.
“Parents have a series of rights and duties. These duties cannot be waived due to the fact that minors are legally incapable and do not have the ability to perform acts of civil life”, completes the lawyer, who also has a master’s degree in Law, Professor of Civil Procedure and President of the 116th Subsection of the Brazilian Bar Association — São Paulo Section (OAB-SP), Jabaquara/Saúde.
For family attorney Melissa Ourives Veiga, this discussion is even more important today, in the age of digital influence. Children and teenagers making a fortune from their media work are nothing new in modern times, but the reach on social networks has made the cases more frequent.
“If we look back, in the 80s and 90s, we had the The Magic Balloon Gang, but nowadays we are seeing a paradigm shift, especially to influencers. One wonders if, somehow, legislation will be introduced to protect this new category”, adds Melissa, Master in Private Law, university professor, vice president of the Brazilian Institute of Family Law in Ceará and founder of a network of support for women, “Mulheres, Livros and Vinhos”.
corporate responsibility
For example, mention babies, children and teenagers who have brands and companies in their name. In these cases, parents have full freedom in managing the assets when the children are minors. So, you need to know if they are acting as a partner in the business.
This appears to have been the case with Larissa. In the letter dedicated to the artist, Silvana and Gilberto mention the family business that they run together with their daughter, in which they are “equal partners”. Therefore, Melissa believes that everything depends on the terms of the social contract signed between them.
“We don’t know what the partners’ stakes are, but we understand that when she leaves the company, the company ends up going extinct because she was the product of the company.” In these cases, there is a corporate liability, which includes, for example, determining all assets of that entity and settling outstanding payments.
estrangement from the family
At least publicly, the family quarrel gained public attention just as Larissa got engaged to actor André Luiz Frambach and took over her career.
22 years old. 18 year career. The year 2023 marks a significant change in my life. The dedication to cinema was my decision, since last year, more precisely in the beginning of December, I have assumed the commercial needs of my career.

Now I become my own business woman! That moment has come with the creation of the Mimalissa company, which will manage all my contracts and take care of everything. The flourishing phase is reflected in the good numbers achieved, which I currently have agreements with seven major brands…

She says that since last December she has taken over her business demands and, in May, she announced the creation of Mimalissa, a company in which she acts as her own manager, managing all of her contracts, a role previously played by her parents. Before that, in January, her followers had noticed that her mother had unfollowed her on social media.
According to columnist Léo Dias, Larissa’s parents sold their daughter’s villa in Orlando without her consent. Silvana and Gilberto deny – in the letter they state that the sale took place in 2021 and that the asset was invested in another house for Larissa, in Rio de Janeiro.

The reporter also revealed that Larissa reportedly did an audit to investigate where her money is. The actress has not publicly denied or confirmed the news. Her parents, on the other hand, used the letter to defend themselves.
“A lot of falsehoods are said, published and always said. (…) The lies have become more than deplorable. They are attacking not only our morale, but also our health,” they said. OR Earth I tried to contact them again, but got no response.
