Fendi opens a “sustainable” production center in Tuscany

The governor of Serravalle Pistoiese, Eugenio Giani, announced this Wednesday (9) that the Italian brand Fendi will open a new logistics center in the territory located in the Tuscany region.

“The Tuscany region and the municipality of Serravalle Pistoiese intend to provide the company with all the necessary support in terms of administration and infrastructure adequacy”, he said, who has prepared a memorandum of understanding to be signed with the maison.

According to Giani, “the development is characterized by high levels of environmental sustainability, through the construction of a photovoltaic system which will produce 1 MW of energy, around 50% of the logistics hub’s needs, also favoring the use of around 200 units, with a significant impact on local employment”.

Additionally, the region envisages the possibility of “close synergy” with institutions to support recruitment and training.

«I am delighted that Fendi has decided to consolidate its activities in Tuscany with a new logistical investment after the new production site in Bagno a Ripoli», concluded Giani.

Based on the protocol, the Region will also support the Municipality in identifying “other areas of industrial destination, intended to cover the current needs expressed by local SMEs, the fashion and manufacturing industry sectors”.

The expectation is that the new company will occupy almost 28,000 square meters and employ more than 200 people. Completion is scheduled for 2025. .
