Difference Between Inhalers: Understand!

Have you ever had to choose an inhaler and didn’t know how to differentiate the available models? Otorrino explains the differences, take a look!

Widely used to treat cough or inhalation, especially at this time of year, inhalers can leave many people confused in choosing the model and still thinking about taking medication, when in reality the model does not offer this function. That’s why explains the otolaryngologist Bruno Borges de Carvalho Barros, from São Paulo.

“Inhalers are very different and may not have the desired effect depending on what is being treated. When using the ultrasonic inhaler, for example, you may not reap the benefits of some corticoid medications. The model only uses the serum even if you put the drug in the device,” explains the doctor. The compressor inhaler, as the name suggests, compresses the air and controls the pressure and flow so that the medicine is expelled as a vapor. In the ultrasonic inhaler version, the high-frequency vibration system transforms the medicine into an aerosol to be inhaled. “Attention must be doubled when there is a need for treatment. The ultrasound model, unlike the compressor, is not indicated for any medications which could in any case have a reduced effectiveness and delay the treatment”, concludes the doctor.
