The suite takes on the look of a hotel room with wooden walls

For the TU VENS suite at CASACOR Rio 2023, architect Paula Müller also used warm colors in the bathroom

Architect Paula Müller makes her debut at CASACOR Rio 2023, designing the TU VENS master suite, by 30 m2, located on the second floor of the main house of the boutique hotel. “My idea was to design a welcoming room where even the guest feels embraced and connected with himself,” he explains. “You know that hotel room you dream of having at home, never having to check out?” he jokes.

To ensure a feeling of welcome and comfort, Paula says she “dressed” the room in natural wood, featured in the original ipe floor, furniture and L-shaped joinery she designed – on one side a panel has been created that acts as a headboard, with indirect lighting from the back; on the other, the same panel incorporates the already existing piece of furniture, imitate your doors and leaves four niches visible in the upper part, which function as a shelf.

“I chose to soften the presence of this woodworking block in the space curved and rounded corners and edges“, says the architect.

The walls of the bedroom have been textured in the Seda Damasco color of Coral, while the ceiling has remained white to better reflect natural light during the day and create more intimate scenes at night, through points of indirect light.

Following the color palette, the neutral set of the bed is enriched with a terracotta-colored linen quilt, while the light carpet (overlapping the reddish carpet) joins the finish of the small tablesin off-white lacquer, to create a more welcoming atmosphere, a sensation reinforced by the raw linen curtains, which frame the view of Christ the Redeemer.

Next to it, the corner for mealscomposed of a table with a round travertine marble top and Arraia chairs, signed by Lattooginvites you to a delicious breakfast.

Another highlight of the decor are the old furniture from home carpetnext to the door, which makes an interesting counterpoint to the contemporary furniture that dominates the space and, at the same time, connects with the very identity of the house, which is listed.

Among the works of art it is worth noting the painting embroidered with colored beads from Atelier Mucki, by the artist Mucki Skowronsky (attached to the headboard), the painting from the Diário Íntimo series, by the photographer and artist Ana Quintella (located near the dining table) and the composition of small paintings from the Casas series, by the artist Daniela Granja (next to the bathroom floor).

The original flooring in the bathroom, in pigweish white marble, has been retained. The walls, on the other hand, were covered, up to half the height, with terracotta-colored ceramics (Terralma Jalapão model, from Portobello), and painted up to the ceiling with paint in the Terra do Fogo color, from Coral.

To add a modern touch to the space, the architect chose to do so metal with all black finishdesigned a loose piece of furniture with rounded corners (with Corian top and countertop washbasin signed by Jader Almeida for Deca) and installed behind a large arch-shaped mirror that follows the design of the existing portal, ending with the Cuca armchair, designed by Zanine Caldas.

Here the raw linen curtains also fulfill the mission of bringing warmth to the space.
