Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (tea)
  • 250 g puff pastry

Filling

  • 1 1/3 cups (tea) roasted and ground cashews
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • Cinnamon powder to taste

Syrup

  • 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar (tea)
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of milk
  • 1/3 cup (heaping) heavy cream

Method of preparation:

  1. Melt the butter without letting it boil, brush a rectangular refractory pan and line the bottom with a rectangle of puff pastry.
  2. Brush again with butter and spread the mixed filling ingredients
  3. Arrange a new layer of puff pastry, brush it with butter, fill and finish with the puff pastry.
  4. Brush again with butter and, with a very sharp knife, score diagonal lines
  5. Bake in a medium oven, preheated, for 1 hour or until golden brown.
  6. Meanwhile, for the caramel sauce, melt the butter with the sugar over low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until the sugar dissolves, then melt.
  7. Leave to boil for 3 minutes, remove from the heat, add the milk and mix well.
  8. Finally add the cream until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
  9. Remove the cake from the heat, arrange it on serving plates, drizzle with the hot syrup and serve immediately.
