The 730 m² space presents a large part of his collection, as well as exhibiting pieces by carpenters from the neighborhood, a new design point in the city of São Paulo
A Tunnel paint, created by Paulo Bega, Fábio Matheiski and Luciano Tartalia, has just gained a new space. Previously occupied by a body shop, the new area has 730 sq m, and the right foot reaches 8 m in height at the central point. During the renovation, the original and historical aspects of the environment, typical of the houses of the old shops of Barra Funda, were recovered.
“We want everything to be cleaner, but we have left the entrance to the shed as it was and kept the original gate, with the signs of aging. The walls and ceiling are peeling. We have come to participate in this cultural effervescence in the neighborhood and dialogue with local production. We will not be just a vintage shop”, comments Matheiski.

For the uninitiated, the Gallery is recognized for its collection of designer furniture extracted. In addition to these, pieces made by carpenters from the region are also available.
“At the inauguration we will be present with six professionals from Barra Funda, we will occupy a larger space to also show the pieces that were in stock – comments Tartalia.
Those who pass through the place will also discover the traditional iconic decorative objects signed by great artists.
“When we created Verniz, we started mixing the modern furniture with industrial furniture and pieces that still weren’t as popular. We also look at the Brazilian furniture and the historical rescue of important names over the years with a selection of pieces with more inviting values”, evaluates Bega.
Highlights
Among the objects highlighted in the new headquarters in Verniz are the dining table and chairs in jacaranda by Jean Gillon, the wooden sculpture by a craftsman from Minas Gerais, the wooden panel by the plastic artist Hugo Rodrigues, the tomboy armchair in jacaranda by Sérgio Rodrigues, the rustic chair by an unknown artist and a caviúna desk from the former Móveis Cimo factory.
