The dresses will be on display at the Cavour 1959 Gallery
While waiting for the next Milan Fashion Week shows, the Galleria Cavour 1959, an emblematic place of Bolognese high fashion, has anticipated this event with the exhibition “The clothes of the stars”, which will be open to the public from 15 September to 15 October.
The exhibition explores the history of art and fashion of the country through some iconic costumes from Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini’s collection.
The exhibition presents a selection of five pieces from the wardrobes of various celebrities, which will be displayed in the large windows of the central space of the Gallery.
On display there will be two dresses, one orange and the other red, by the designer Roberto Capucci, coming from Raina Kabaivanska’s wardrobe, which were donated by the artist to the Baby Nel Cuore Association for charitable purposes and then purchased by Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini .
The red dress is from the 70s and the orange one is from the 80s.
Also on display, among the celebrities’ favorite designers, is a lilac chiffon dress and a blue-purple velvet cape decorated with taffeta ruffles of the same color, from the 1980s, belonging to the wardrobe of actress Valentina Cortese.
Rounding out the selection is a printed Yves Saint Laurent dress from 1994, worn by Jeanne Moreau at the Cannes Film Festival that year.
Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini has a wardrobe with more than 3000 high fashion pieces, which she continues to use to give life to the creations of other designers, thus defining herself as a “stylist of herself through the creations of others”.
