Most of us don’t think twice about throwing all of our dirty clothes – from socks to jeans – into the washing machine.
But there are situations when another household appliance can refresh clothes much better and extend their life, and this one, as you probably already guessed, is a refrigerator – these are the types of keeping items -dress for which you can use it.
jeans
Regular washing causes denim to deform over time, so reducing its frequency is a completely reasonable decision. To freshen up your jeans, place them in the freezer overnight: the low temperature will reduce bacterial activity.
Cashmere
You can do three things endlessly: watch the fire burn, watch the water flow, and discuss how to care for cashmere. Some experts say that water damages the fibers the most, while others say that substances used during dry cleaning damage cashmere even more. But there’s a trade-off: Put your precious sweater in the freezer for 24 hours to avoid the wear and tear associated with traditional washing methods.
Bright things
Shiny things are beautiful, but there are two “buts” when it comes to caring for them: firstly, they fade when washing, and secondly, they can stain other things. There is a way out: put a light, faded blouse in the freezer, not in the drum of the machine. This will solve both problems at once and, according to Prerna Jain, owner of the cleaning agency, will also help set the dye and minimize color loss.

Linen infested with bedbugs
We hope you never have to figure out how to rid your home of bed bugs. However, keep in mind: Clothing and bedding infested with these pests should be placed in the freezer for 80 hours, which will kill all bed bugs and their larvae, according to the Entomological Society of America.
Soft toys
First fact: dust mites are one of the most common causes of bronchial asthma attacks, atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis. Second fact: right now in your bed there are about a million and a half of these little animals taking advantage of the old scales on your skin. Third fact: you destroy them all when you send your laundry to the wash. However, research has shown that freezing works much better with stuffed animals: just put teddy bears and tigers in the freezer overnight.
Clothes with blood stains
Blood stains are some of the hardest to remove, especially when it comes to white objects. To increase the chance of success, wet the cloth with cold water, place it in a bag and freeze it – this will prevent the stain from setting. All you have to do is scrape the ice off your clothes then wash them as usual.
