Cornbread with dulce de leche

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk (tea)
  • 1 can drained green corn
  • 1/2 cup (tea) oil
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon fennel
  • 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 cups (tea) cornmeal
  • 3 eggs

Milk cream

  • 1 liter of type C milk
  • 500 g of sugar
  • 1 clove

Preparation method:

  1. For the dulce de leche, put the milk, sugar and cloves in a large pan and mix
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and forms a paste-like consistency.
  3. Remove from heat and reserve on a plate
  4. Meanwhile, for the cornbread, blend the milk, corn, oil, sugar, salt and fennel in a blender until smooth.
  5. Pour into a pan and then heat over medium heat, stirring until boiling.
  6. Add the flour and cornmeal all at once, mixing well until it thickens and comes away from the bottom of the pan.
  7. Remove from the heat, leave to cool and mix the eggs, one by one, until a smooth mixture is formed.
  8. Form the dough into balls and place them next to each other in a large greased baking tray.
  9. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 20 minutes or until lightly browned
  10. Remove from the oven and then serve with dulce de leche.
