Singer and songwriter Arlindo Cruz celebrated his 65th birthday last Thursday, September 14th. Unfortunately, the musician has been living with the consequences of a stroke for more than half a decade, suffered in 2017. On his official Instagram profile, Arlindo Domingos da Cruz Neto, better known as Arlindinho, son of the famous singer, shared some videos in honor of his father and the birthday boy. In them, he vented about the state of his parents’ health, but he said this “It’s as if God had left him here with us”.

“Today is a sad happiness, or a joyful sadness. A mix of sensations and feelings. It is my father’s birthday, my dear father, he is alive, he is here. Maybe not as we would like, but this is how God left him here with us”the artist made his debut on his social media.

“I thank God for everything, I know that He knows everything, and I thank everyone for the love, messages, positive energies as always. Thank you! And to my dear dad, health, strength and quality of life. Rest, let it be to us”continued Arlindinho.

Hospitalized at the Casa de Saúde São José, in Humaitá, in the South Zone of Rio, for treatment of bacterial mumps, Arlindo Cruz was discharged on September 5. Since then, family members have announced invitations to the singer’s birthday party, which was held at the Império Serrano samba school, in Rio, and all proceeds from the celebration were donated to the singer’s care.
