Potato gnocchi with bacon recipe

Preparation time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups milk (tea)
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) wheat flour (approximately)
  • Oil for greasing and frying
  • 2 eggs for breading
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs for dusting

Filling

  • 3 cups diced bacon
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella
  • 3 cups (tea) of Catupiry® cream cheese

Preparation method:

  1. In a large pan, over medium heat, heat the milk with the margarine and salt.
  2. Cook for 5 minutes or until it starts to boil.
  3. Add the cooked and mashed potatoes, cornstarch and wheat flour all at once and stir with a wooden spoon until it comes away from the bottom of the pan.
  4. If necessary, add more flour.
  5. Place on a greased surface and wait for it to cool.
  6. For the filling, in a pan over medium heat, brown the bacon in its own fat until lightly browned.
  7. Transfer to a bowl and add it to the mozzarella and Catupiry®.
  8. Open some portions of dough between your hands, fill them with the Catupiry® dough and close them to form balls.
  9. Dip it in the beaten eggs and breadcrumbs. Fry, little by little, in boiling oil until golden brown.
  10. Finally, drain them on absorbent paper and serve them.
